Dexter Cattle For Sale in Pennsylvania

Dexter Cattle

Dexter cattle came to the United States from England and Ireland at the turn of the century. They are a very old and small breed of cattle. They were called "house" cows, meaning that each cow could produce just enough milk and meat for one household. They are very productive, hardy, and long lived. Our herd focus is on the traditional Dexter, black and horned. We offer long, medium, and short legged cattle. We have found the Dexter to make excellent family milk cows, 4H project animals, and beef brood cows. The beef is superb quality, offering smaller cuts of meat to the discerning consumer. They truly are the ultimate family cow! We specialize in hand raised heifer calves, often dehorned and lead broke. We will raise bull and draft prospects on request. We calve year around and almost always have something for sale. Our cattle are registered with the American Dexter Cattle Association.

Calves are leaving the farm almost as fast as they get here. To reserve a hand raised bottle baby please contact us. The calves are ready to go anytime after a month of age(that is, if you want to be apart of the bottle process), but most are ready to go at about 8 to 10 weeks. At that time, they can be dehorned if desired and will be started on lead training. Prices for heifers will run from $900 - $1,200.

Dam - Old Orchard Sage
Sold to Virginia

Old Orchard Sinder is a fancy heifer with a great pedigree. She has been bred to be a family milk cow. She would be a great addition to any herd. Her dam, Old Orchard Sage, has one of the best udders I have ever seen on a Dexter cow. She is very tame and broke to lead.
